Crackers Art & Design is owned, operated, loved and nurtured by me, artist-in-residence and chief crackpot, Sarah Epstein. I am mum to two little fellas, who were my inspiration to pick up the paintbrushes again and get 'cracking'!

And once I started, I couldn't stop! So many little characters and ideas are jostling for room in my head and I can't get them down onto the canvas fast enough. Once my sons were born, I suddenly had someone to paint them for and so I do - every chance I get!

Crackers first started trading way back in 1998 as a small market stall business in Sydney. I wasn't being fulfilled creatively by my graphic design job and wanted to get involved with something that got my hands dirty. I started creating colourful handpainted wooden gifts and got such a feeling of satisfaction selling my wares to people who really loved and enjoyed them.

I then moved into stationery items like greeting cards and notebooks, before finding my passion for painting again. And now everything has come full circle with my new characters being represented on canvases, wooden handpainted gifts, clothing and stationery items.
